Cost per graft: what do 2,000, 3,000 or 4,000 grafts cost?
Most clinics price in grafts. Here you'll see guide values from 1,000 to 5,000 grafts for Turkey and Germany, how clinics build their prices and why your offer may differ.

Key points
- According to our guide values, a graft costs about €1.07 in Turkey and €2.93 in Germany on average. So 3,000 grafts come to roughly €3,200 and €8,800 respectively.
- Many clinics don't price linearly but with packages or graft bands. So always compare what the price includes.
- How many grafts you need depends on your Norwood stage, donor area and goal. Only planning based on your photos gives a real price.

How clinics build their prices
Not every clinic prices the same way. The three most common models:
- Price per graft: each transplanted graft costs a fixed amount. This is transparent, but the final price is only set once it's clear how many grafts are placed.
- Graft bands: one fixed price applies to a range, for example up to 3,000 or up to 4,000 grafts. This is common with clinics abroad.
- Packages: one total price for surgery, hotel and transfer, sometimes with “as many grafts as needed”. Here it's especially important how many grafts are actually planned.
Each clinic states its price per graft in its offer, based on your photos.
Which area bothers you most?

Your name stays with you until you choose a clinic.
Start without choosingWhat changes the price per graft
- The country: wages, rents and living costs make the biggest difference.
- The method: DHI and sapphire FUE often cost a little more than classic FUE.
- Who operates: if a doctor performs the key steps personally, it's usually more expensive than a team with little medical involvement.
- What's included: medication, aftercare, hotel and transfer can be in the price or cost extra.
- The amount: some clinics get cheaper per graft the more grafts are placed.
How many grafts do you need?
The “Typical for” column in the table is a rough match to the Norwood stage. How many grafts you really need also depends on your donor area, hair thickness and goal.
Our graft calculator shows you a first range. A real plan is made by the clinic based on your photos.
Be careful with very high graft numbers
More grafts sounds like more hair, but the donor area is limited and doesn't grow back. If too many grafts are taken at once, the back of the head can visibly thin out, and no reserves are left for later.
If you're promised a very high number without anyone looking at your donor area, ask what the clinic is basing it on.
How to compare offers by number of grafts
- Divide the fixed price by the planned number of grafts to see the price per graft.
- Add any missing services, such as medication, aftercare or hotel.
- Check that both clinics plan roughly the same number of grafts. If one differs a lot, ask why.
- Compare who operates. That's often the biggest difference behind two prices.
